Until 2017 Woodrow Wilson High School (DC) hadn't won a city championship in over 30 years but since 2017 they won back to back city titles and a state title. This docuseries follow them as they attempt to make history 3-peating in the city and winning back to back state titles all while playing a national schedule and dealing with the hardships that come with living in the Nations Capital. DC Assault was an AAU organization that came to fame in the early 90s and had a solid 20 year run that saw players like DeMarr Johnson, James White, Mike Beasley, Jeff Green, Quinn Cook & many others put on that uniform. That all changed when the founder of the organization Curtis Malone was arrested on drugs and weapons charges in August of 2013. The documentary discusses the programs beginnings, rise to power and subsequent end.
Attention Kills is a web series that is a depiction of the Urban-American experience from a DC perspective. With the backdrop being everyday life in an inner city each character is placed in situations that explore life's harsh realities as well as topic that are prevelant although not always discussed. The Uptown Hoopfest is the premiere More Than Basketball event. It became a staple in the city in its 4th annual in 2013 after the event was so big hundreds of people couldn't get in and the fire marshalls were called.
