Kris Jenkins drained perhaps the biggest shot in program and probably NCAA tournament history.
In 2016, Jenkins dropped in a 3-pointer off a feed from Ryan Arcidiacono as the buzzer sounded to help propel Villanova to its second NCAA national title with a 77-74 victory over North Carolina in Houston.
Jenkins earned his Villanova degree in May 2017 after completing a four-year career that included 129 victories. He concluded his college career with 1,383 points after moving past the 1,000-point plateau on Nov. 29, 2016. He was part of a senior class that never suffered consecutive losses in its four seasons. Jenkins was named first team All-Philadelphia Big Five and Honorable Mention All-BIG EAST as a senior.
In 2015-16, the 6-6 forward averaged 18.4 ppg over Villanova's final 15 games, reaching double figures in every one of those outings down the stretch. He contributed 18 points to a 95-51 Final Four win over Oklahoma on April 2. Additionally, he was tabbed Most Outstanding Player at the South Regional, helping Villanova advance past Kansas to the Final Four.
After earning his degree, Jenkins played two seasons of professional basketball overseas and in the G League.
Prior to coming to Villanova, Jenkins starred at Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C. Born November 20, 1993, in Columbia, S.C.
